Keep sales and purchases organised in one easy-to-use account book. The T008 Turnover Account Book combines sales and purchase records with analysis in a practical, double-ended A4 format.

Record sales from the front, then flip the book over to enter purchases from the back. When it is time to review your figures, both sets of records are together in one place, with separate sections to help you stay organised.

Two sections, one practical book

  • Double-ended layout: sales run from the front and purchases from the back, keeping the two clearly separated.
  • 24 charts with analysis: 12 sales charts and 12 purchase charts for structured handwritten records.
  • A4 format: 297 × 210mm, providing room to write and review your entries.
  • 52 pages: a dedicated book for keeping your sales and purchase records together.
  • 90gsm white paper: quality paper for your handwritten accounts.
  • Finished by hand in Devon: finished and dispatched from the same facility.

Keeping good bookkeeping records

Good bookkeeping is about more than adding up figures. Clear, consistent records help you see what has come in, what has gone out and where to find the paperwork behind each transaction. A regular routine also makes it easier to review your business figures and prepare information for your bookkeeper or accountant.

  • Keep entries up to date: set aside time each week to record sales and purchases while the details are fresh, rather than relying on memory later.
  • Make each transaction easy to identify: note the date, customer or supplier, a brief description, the amount and an invoice or receipt reference in your records.
  • Keep supporting paperwork: organise invoices, receipts and credit notes by date or reference so you can trace an entry back to its source.
  • Use consistent categories: group similar transactions in the same way each time so your analysis is easier to compare from one period to the next.
  • Check against statements: regularly compare your records with bank, card and payment-provider statements. Investigate differences, including fees, refunds or missing entries, rather than changing totals simply to make them match.
  • Distinguish sales from payouts: a payment-provider payout may combine several sales and deduct fees or refunds. Keep the breakdown so the bank deposit can be explained without counting the same income twice.
  • Keep business and personal items distinct: clearly identify personal spending and money introduced or withdrawn, rather than treating every bank movement as a sale or purchase.
  • Make corrections traceable: keep the original entry readable and add a clear correction or explanatory note.
  • Protect your records: store the book and supporting documents securely, and keep legible backup copies of important paperwork.

These are general bookkeeping tips, not a list of the book’s printed column headings. Use the book alongside your supporting documents and any other records or software your business needs.
